EXHIBITION AND FESTIVAL OPENED

Photo exhibition “Nis on the European Road” and second, film manifestation “Days of European Film” organized on occasion of celebration of Europe Day – Day of Victory over Fascism, opened in Nis` Cultural Center Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic, President of City Municipality of Palilula. He expressed satisfaction because this events in culture is held under patronage and on the territory of Palilula Municipality, which is as organization of local self government clearly in its strategies of development defined its European path of development. “Ethnically and religiously Palilula Municipality is heterogeneous area on which territory live more then 15 national communities – national minorities. They live in mutual respect and tolerance.” President Novakovic especially thanked his colleagues, presidents of municipalities Medijana and Pantelej because they supported organizers of event: French Institute in Nis, Nis` Cultural Center and Media Center Nis.

On this occasion, to the most successful participants of photo contest “Nis on the European Road”, which was called by Media Research Center, by the jury decision Sasa Djordjevic (photojournalist of Agency Beta), Dusan Mitic Car (photojournalist Vecernje Novosti) and Juliana Nikolova (photojournalist of Agency of Sofia from Bulgaria) and jury of public, which voted on the site, awarded.

First award, four – day stay in Rome won photograph “Patience” by Alexander Z. Dimitrijevic. Award handed Dragoslav Cirkovic, President of City Municipality of Medija. Photographs by Marina Krstic and Nevena Ciric, “The time has come” and “Resolutely forward” won the second and third award. Award Digital Photo Frame to the authors handed Slavisa Dinic and tickets for Film Festival 2011, Srdjan Savic, Director of Nis` Cultural Center. Award of Media – research Center, free training in the school of underwater photography, won Branislav Ignjatovic for the photograph “Glorious past and hope for a new future”, which received 15.751 vote.
